"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."
This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

I have a question, after all these years of training yourself and your clients, do you still believe in the Nautilus Principal style of training (i.e. 3x/week full body to failure) of Arthur Jones?
I have read a few of your books (live longer stronger, new high intensity training and new bodybuilding old results) and find these great reads, it seems you always suggest full body 3x/week one set failure.
The reason I ask, is with all the talk on the discussion forum...it appears individuals are moving away from that style of training and/or bashing traditional HIT style training.
So, am I wasting my time using this training method for overall health and fitness at 52 years old.
I only spent about 25 hours with Arthur Jones but those were 25 of the most productive hours of my life. He was a great educator. tough exterior but I sensed he had a soft side for folks. I spent about 10 additional hours on the phone. My first phone call cost me $400 a princely sum in 1972. I was fortunate I was suffering from the effects of TB and dislocating shoulders from football. I had ears to hear. Also thanks for you have done to stay with the work El. I have your number if its the same I will call you soon.
