"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

I don't think that was the reason he was fired. No sensible person could disagree with what he was saying. It sounds like there were a lot of other issues involved and this was just used as an excuse.

Winter Haven isn't too far from here. Maybe we'll invite some of their "jelly bellies" in for a few workouts.

Yeah, I don't think what he wrote in itself is enough to get him fired. It sounds like there were morale issues to begin with, but they just needed something concrete to put down as a reason for his walking papers. I, for one, agree with what it sounds like he wrote - I obviously haven't read the memo.

As a police officer myself, I feel that if the department is generally out of shape, than it needs to be said and corrected and as the chief, it's definitely his place to say something. It's an officer and public safety issue, plain and simple.
