"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

This one didn't post before for some reason. Took these a few months ago for incentive.

It highlights the Horseshoe and the Big Spare Tire, which I'm currently working on.

BeauMann,
Excellent shape, you've built a lot of muscle; do you train with machines or freeweights?

Scott,
Fantastic forearm! Good shape overall but if you only showed the forearm pic we would have thought you were as big as smanjh :)

I suspect your forearm development is a result of many years of hard labour combined with being well fed, like my friend the mason. I also think you should immediately drop all assistance work like shoulder raises, leg extensions and the thigh master in favour of the basics - your forearm development makes it clear you could take the rest of your physique a lot further.

Thanks Tomislav,

I train primarly with freeweights. If my gym had decent machines I might use some though.

The beer keg torso definitely undervalues the size of my arms!

The Extensors prove the overall usuefulness of focused Iso Work in combo with heavy grip stuff like Shrugs and DLs almost always being part of my program.

The Flexor development is proof positive of the value of Infrequency for FT muscles.

My forearms are fast twitch and they really didn't pop in size until I STOPPED much of the physical labor of my youth.

Scott,

Nice work.

I'd think you were a mesomorph if I only saw the forearm pic.

What you are doing is working very well for you.

Here is a blurry but still recognizable picture from before working out today.

269, still a lot to go, but I was an untrained 345 or so pretty much in February, and only got to train again since April.

I want to try and get 'Southbeach approved' lean wise before next summer, but I am now sort of pacing myself since it is going to get pretty damn cold here soon, and thus really no motivating factor outside of 1-2 pound per week gradual fat loss.

Nice guns, smanjh.

So let me get this straight. You have been as big as 345 around a year ago, and you are at 269 presently?

I wouldn't of guessed looking at your picture. Muscle can be dense for sure, hey.

Hey BeauMann,

Lookin good. Reminds me of me when I was younger.

Got some bad news for you however, I think the kid is gonna smoke you in 12 years if you don't keep it up. LOL

He looks like he has the genes.

I am sure you are a good mentor and father.

Great job.
