"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Too often folks in here get carried away, let's get back to good old things like proportion, realistic looks and awesome physiques... let's celebrate in here what contests fail to recognize...post good pictures please

Normally when you start a thread like this you include a pic of yourself...

If you search the site, there's a "post your pic" thread that many of us(including myself) have contributed a pic to....at least, those who'd like to be treated with respect(and taken seriously).

Have you posted pics on this site before?

Nate,

I did not know you want to see a picture of me so bad [I did not know I have a fan ] How would you prefer that photograph?

A) autographed
B) framed
C) laminated

Above ( for me ) is an example of an `awesome` & proportionate physique , and one that a natural trainee could/should aspire to .

Yes , Vince Gironda as natural as it gets , together with no oil , unshaven & with natural light.

I always hear that Vince ate dried animal testacles in order to try and mimic the affect of steroids. You obviously wouldn't do that if you were taking steroids as well lols.

Turpin I agree with what you are saying, this is definitely the award winning physique, worthy of a Sandow Trophy.

Unfortunately this trophy is being awarded again and again to people who do not deserve it.

I agree. His legs are impressive. Great genetics. Looks like a heck of an athlete.

No picture says to me this is what a bodybuilder should look like quite like this one. I only wish I had appreciated Reeves physique when I started training 10 years ago so I could have strived for this a little earlier and harder.

Scott,

Thank you for sharing... I can not be 100% sure but it is possible that he had some "help".

I have no doubt at all that he did some gear. However, with that waistline, it was certainly far less than many.

All I'm saying is that when I think of best, most pleasing BB builds, the first one that pops into my head is his.

Sorry, I do not think your premise of having a small waiste as an indicator of the amount of steroids someone uses is correct. Some of the largest users/abusers of steroids I've known have actually been physically quite small and poorly developed muscular wise. A small waist is more indicative of having a small waiste.

That'e the beauty of living in America: Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Even if it's wrong.

The 80s and early 90s guys don't hold a candle steroidvolumewise to the shapeless behemoths today.

I do sort of get your point (I think) about un-exercised midsections. Small waists through lack of exercise would include Sergio and Robby Robinson, but LL hardly looks like he falls in that category, now does he?
