"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Great impressive form and with outrageous weight!

I wonder what he weighs and how long his roids have been working on that strength.

No, actually I really don't care about the answer.

SB,

You really need to learn some social skills. I sometimes think that you really don't have any real ill intent, but you trip over your own feet (when their not in your mouth) and fall on some of the most ignorant blind sided things to say. I think your awkwardness is getting the best of you.

THINK before you type!!

SB,

That comment was just uncalled for after the ordeal Scott has been through.

Perhaps your fingers were operating faster than your mind ... nevertheless ...

Anyone that can even exercise at all after Scott's illness and treatment has my admiration. And he is working at his job to boot.

Scott is too much of a man to call you out on this, but you ought to apologize and demonstrate what kind of man ... you are.

Wasn't even thinking about Scott's situation when I said that. Had no reference to that at all..i'd never do that. In any event I am sorry for the confusion though

I forgive you Southbeach. I know it's your nature to come down on folks and it's really hard for you to control that urge to put people down, especially someone like me who often gives you grief.

He lacks thinking skills - evident by his thoughts in many areas.

I bet atleast 90% of twenty-year old men can't do that and atleast 95% of men our age can't either.

Are you serious? I can't recall how many plates are in the stack of that machine? 20?

It's been a while. 23 or 24 plates. The whole stack is 250 lbs (I think)

The suggested starting weights for men 18 to 35 years old was 50 pounds on the cross and 60 on the press. So let's say 55 lbs for a beginner. So 140 lbs is quite good.

There are those who CLAIM 20 inch arms and CLAIM they can do the whole weight stack, but as we all know...

I've also seen under-developed men use more weight than they could use for strict form and use horrible cheating form.

By the way that was one heck of a machine. I never built pecs like I did on that machine. Your training partner (or anybody) could switch the resistance between exercises and for added agony push down on the weight stack during the negative portions. They were also indestructible.

The only downside was friction.
