"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Gentleman,

It was a brilliant show, even better than 2011.

Mr.Shortt,

I heard a bodybuilding perspective that I've never heard before. His talk changed many of my views about the purpose of competing. He provided practical solutions for those who want to take their training this far. Over 20 years of competitive experience really showed in his exercise demonstration and his words.

Since SS/Renex, by their own admission, is now 'High Stimulation Training', and has little to do with muscle mass and/or strength gain, I'm surprised that bodybuilding was even discussed. But thanks anyway for the update Josh.

BTW Andrew, I wonder if Josh's workout included the Techno..I mean SS/Renex Leg Press?

Hey Dave, The Association of Oldetime Barbell and Strongmen Dinner sounds like a great night. Glad that you and Mr. Zander himself (Bob Francis) will attend again this year.

Since you won't be far from me, give me a call when you get in.

I think he means Rain-X, the liquid that repels water from car windshields. I'm gathering from the "Revealed Secrets Of A Pro Bodybuilder" presentation by Josh, that he used Rain-X on his body as one of his secrets to increase his shine and repel the competition. Josh is brilliant. Pun intended. Although, I'm not sure I want to know about other secrets revealed.

Must suck holding all these seminars and not sell any shiny machines.

Interesting how everyone that raves about the RenEx line hasn't purchased any. Wonder why?

d

P.S. Does Josh's tattoo means he's a bad boy, an idiot following the tribal tattoo trend, or an aging, former athlete trying to hold onto something he doesn't possess any longer?

Even though I'm not convinced yet about REN=EX's worth either way I imagine there was some good talk worth listening to at this event.I'd have gone if it was close by just to feed my curiosity.

it looks like they gave up on selling the renex stuff and now they are trying their hat at isometrics/isometric machines. they created stations where they use a force plate that allows the user to know how hard he is contracting.

this seems like an interesting idea. they are combining the isometric exercise as a pre-exhaust to a compound, dynamic, exercise.

this should have some merit.being able to see your tension rate, on the force plate, so, the trainee will be able to strive, to beat, his "all out", effort, every, workout.

this should be effective? his device allows one to do progressive, isometrics because the force plate gives the trainee a read out of his effort-and will allow the trainee to set a targeted effort ie goals with quantifiable feed back.

after an "all out" isolation exercise, on the isometric machine then, the trainee instantly, goes to a standard, compound and pushes the already exhausted muscle further into exhaustion- after an all out contraction on the isolation/isometric exercise. this seems like an interesting direction that ken is going--

it seems that ken is trying to evolve past some of the mistakes he has made with the concept of s.s. and/or renex-he is trying something new!!!

-it takes a big man to admit he may have been short sighted on some key issues--gotta give him credit for this. after all he has invested his life savings into his s.s. and /or renex machines and devoted most of his adult life to the concepts of super-slow [writing books, and giving seminars]--but, it looks like he is now trying to think outside the box and at least venture into new areas--bravo

The Association of Old Time Barbell and Strongman is always a Nice Dinner and I get to see a Natural Bodybuilder Seminar of Interest, which is on the Agenda. Rust Testo - a Lifetime Natural Bodybuilder and one of the best posers of all time will be presenting it. He is a Class Act for those who have ever met him.

Another Note: The origins of SS/RX is something I rediscovered back in the 1990s - Functional Isometric Contraction by Bob Hoffman - NNUTS - As an adjunct - I just put together a Finishing Tool for Shoulders and Biceps!

You mean like you and jitterbug did? Not to mention some new sycophant troll Tika.

Get it through your head. The jig is up. We're onto your scam here. Time to move on and try your luck on some other unwitting forum.

Pete Sisco - Static Contraction Training, utilizing static "machines" with force plates. Nothing new here... And before anyone says anything, I couldn't care two shits about Renex one way or the other.

As for this Tika person, he/she only comes on about once a year to say nice things to this Josh character, so for those who are getting ruffled, I wouldn't worry about it.
