"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Mr.Turpin,

I have to agree with Ms.Tif, I think this is all personal I don't believe that you even think what you say.

I also don't think you have any examples of him going after you or anyone else maybe you are just hurt inside?

I wouldn't give Ren-ex or Trentine further airspace by pulling the threads from the archives , but they are there.

As for not `thinking what I say` , don't kid yourself ... Trentines legs ( especially lower half ) are very poor considering he promotes himself as a pro-bodybuilder.

I here you, one time i put some response to a post about training,it wasnt about mr. trentine or his ren-x.and he put some kind of bitchy responce to my post and informed me that he was a real professional bber, as if i didnt know what i was talking about.i guess whatever i said got his posing trunks in an uproar.I was fortunate as a teenager when i was learning to train, to frequent the only golds gym at the time late 70s early 80s also Zuvers,Bill Pearls .I was lucky enough to see a majority of the pros from those days that competed in the Mr. O train. Those guys are the ones that i consider real pro bbers.Maybe some of these so called experts should use old school training methods, and they would actually look like pros they claim to be.

lol, Is that what really happened? Joshy was a big bully to all of you? That's not the Joshua I know. I bet you won't post this conversation either. I've never seen him attack anyone like that, but he is nasty when deserved.

Good post Tika! Competing as a natural heavyweight is impressive considering most natural bb's are much lighter like figure; provided Josh doesn't overdiet and lose muscle, that extended bulking phase with raw food is going to show gains at an already advanced level - that is Old School.

the fella named josh did not bully me,just put a responce to something I posted.that to me sounded bitchy and like he thought he was the end word on the subject matter.being he considered himself a pro bber.I learned what to do to bullies as a little kid and generally afterward they weren't bullies anymore.

Ron,
there are many sassy posters making sassy posts but few achieving much in the way of results; Josh's results speak for themselves - I encourage him and Andrew to have fun!

I also encourage Andrew to try bulkbuilding to go up a weight division :)

Mr.Ron33,

Is "real pro bbers" equivalent to drug users?

It is interesting that you would have more admiration for the professional drugged bodybuilders than the professional natural ones.

I don't think there's any doubt that both Joshua and Andrew have achieved excellent results for what god gave them to work with. Whether in Joshua's case it's the result of REN-EX practices remains to be seen but I think we've beat that horse to death on here. Let's move on to something else.

Hopefully someone will post some pictures from the upcoming events they participate in. Regardless of the methods they use to get there they deserve alot of credit for building some fine muscles.

Mr. Landau,

I agree, I think this exhibition will have quite an impact on the HIT community. Best of luck to both HIT related contestants.

Yes best of luck to all. Hard work at least be should be acknowledged.

Quite an impact I disagree.

While I dont know the true size of the HIT community and what that is made of but, If by community those of us who post here and on the RenEx site.Add the BBS site then the maybe 50 of us I doubt a bodybuilding event will have a huge impact.

What will happen is we will for the most part disagree. Argue and then some will tell us how they got better results not training to failure. It may be true that they did.

People who have never competed in their life will complain. Maybe some name calling.

Sides will be taken. You know just about what happens here everyday.

I think the biggest impact HIT ever had and I dont think it was being called HIT at the time.

Was when Jones trained Viator an took him to York and stunned everyone.

I dont think it will happen again to that extent. Jones had his poster boy and nautilus took off.

Now Jones made advancements to the medical and physical therapy. Also paved the way to anyone using one set to failure. Had many studies to show most of his theories.Change the way people trained. Sold his machines around the world as well as the nautilus way to train.

Went on to MedEx. All of this started copy cat companies to cash in with the fitness industry.

Then there were those who refused to believe what and how those results came about. Or anything else Jones did.

The unfortunate thing is that many people who want to start training learned from muscle rags and trainers in gyms that offer bad advice. Now its cross fit,px 90 ect. Also what they see on TV.

There are more who believe in traning like drug fueled bodybuilders and other crazy acts in the name of fitness than HIT training.OR even abbreviated routines.

My chiropractor told me about Arthur Jones after hurting myself doing muscle rag routines.

So in the whole scope of things we or in the minority.

Something else may come along that is HIT and is new and gets results.

But im not sure it will have the impact that Jones and Nautilus started. For the reasons I stated above.

I'm curious,do you really think this contest will reveal something substantially new that will resonate through out the HIT community? Maybe you're being sarcastic? The only thing I could think of that might have that kind of result is if Andrew or Joshua came looking like a Mentzer or Viator.Maybe it will be revealed that eating Twinkies is the key to huge muscles, ha ha??

It seems more like "if" the bomb is dropped, rather than "when", based on your hesitation in the other thread.

There is no magic, Mentzer was on drugs and was built for bodybuilding.

Lets not go off into lala land. What I look for at 45 is progress. You cannot compare anyone to anyone. The only proof that what you are doing is working is if you personally progress. I don't mean get fatter or thinner I mean get more symmetrical and more muscular at the same body fat percentage.

Andrew

I know there is no magic bullet. I was just wondering what David was referring to with his bombshell notion.Short of something absurd I can't think of anything bombastic that would result from any contest. Wait a minute, I take that back....maybe Jones never died and has been in secluded training all this time and he will appear as big as Oliva, ha ha.

Well can't say as I do either. I commend Josh for making a comeback and placing so much onus on RenX. I know Josh worked very hard...too hard bodybuilding over the years and took a much needed break. I actually think he may have done serious physical damage if he had pushed it any longer.

Anyway the point is to see if any progress is being made. Of course diet and many things influence the outcome but Josh is a pro and can control the variables. As for me as I have said before it is only when I get very lean I can honestly tell how my gains or lack of are doing.

Body comp devices including dexa are not specific enough when it comes to eeking out the last bit of portential let alone challenging ones potential to give a little.

Andrew

I would again like to wish good luck to Josh and Andrew.

Wether I like what Josh or Andrew says or does even like them or not. Agree or disagree. It does not matter to me.

I can appreciate someone putting in a effort to achieve a goal.

Hard work pays off in one way or another.

Mr.entsminger,

Perhaps he means that this contest may reveal things about the two most discussed subjects on this forum?

I think 7 weeks is plenty of time for him to really lean out; i'm looking forward to seeing the end results.

It will all be in the timing - how much time he has to lose what he wants to lose. There is a fine line between fullness and shredded-ness ;n)

Josh is a pro though so likely he will nail it. I never have but here's to hoping this time is the time!

Is Josh still eating primarily Raw?

I would think with al the hype about how great raw food eating is one would be able to maintain a pretty lean physique year round.
