"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

That's for sure...it's really not the way to go for any athletic purpose, bodybuilding or otherwise... but as Mark Twain said long ago, "It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled."

This thread is an absolute embarrassment to Arthur, HIT, and Dr Darden. As I've got to know the people that truly knew Arthur, I know their reasons for avoiding this web site and I can't say I blame them. I'm sure Arthur is rolling in his grave to even have SS/RENEX referred to in the same breath as Nautilus and MedX. Research for yourself what Arthur thought of Ken Hutchins and the SuperSlow protocol. Want it straight from Arthur? ok, read the interview that Brian Johnston did with Arthur. Nothing second hand there simon-hecubus, gmlongo, jitterbug, et al.

Go back, read Arthur's Bulletins and think for yourself.

Mr.Davidson,

It's not 1970 anymore, Arthur is dead and there is no more King Arthur's court. The only way hit has a chance is through Mr.Trentine who carries forward Mr.Jones' work.

Mr.Davidson,

Is this all about appearance? That is very short sighted. RenEx is actually the only ones in HIT that can boast of numbers of competitive bodybuilders Mr.Davidson the jealous one is you.

Here's the "King" of HIT and presumably, "Exercise", discussing optimal exercise prescription; about 6 minutes into the clip.

paraphrasing: "Our prescription is: once to two times a week for 20 minutes. That?s what we think works best?....anything more than that becomes too threatening to the human organism." LOL.

Man, I hate getting sucked back into this board of non-productive bullshit..but here I am. I'll play for a little while.

You SS/RENEX guys have to make up your minds. You can't say you're HIT carrying forward Arthur's work only when it suits you.

Ken and Josh know what Arthur thought of SuperSlow (and Ken), so in a lot of ways you're f-cked. As I stated before, Arthur's sentiments are public record.

Then, Hutchins likes to criticize Arthur almost every time he writes something, but also like to state many of Arthur's good ideas came from him. I thought there was some discussion a while back on your board that Renex was now going to be called HST, High Stimulation Training, or something of that nature. If that's true then fine. Have the balls to come out and say so. You can't have it both ways.

Mr.Turps,

Really? name one, please name one and include which contests they've won, which articles they wrote, which machines they build and which business they run and don't forget to include only pro level bodybuilders.

You can't name 1 with all of the goods, not one.

Mr.Trentine is clearly the undisputed king of HIT, maybe of modern day exercise period.

Mister Jitterbug,

How so? And besides, if HIT is such a sinking ship, then why are you still clinging to it like a deck chair on the Titanic?

You can play the mix and match game, but most of the people here know full well Mr. Trentine is not carrying forward the work of Mr. Jones. He just isn't.

The only real similarities are the emphasis on brevity, and it's machine based.

If anything, with the isometrics, brevity, and still being machine based, (even though the "pulsed breathing" is in all actuality a Pilates dictum), Mr. Trentine is carrying forward the work of the Exer-Genie people.

He's had some nice bodybuilding accomplishments, no doubt, however his own results have little baring in the overall picture, at least not to me.

I know Joshua's bodybuilding aspect is an important piece of the puzzle for some of the people here, and I do understand where that is coming from and why that banter occurred surrounding it, but, and bulkbuilders please look away for just a moment ...

(Since you want to promote his bodybuilding aspect)

... From what I've seen, in all candor, Joshua looks brutally out of shape for most of the calendar year, so I am not really all that favorably moved by it.

Probably due to the business I've been in for most of my life, I have an admiration for the person that can bring it -- four seasons. It's a veritable requirement. No glitches. Whatever the appearance, own it, unless specifically asked to morph it, or when it isn't working.

From where I am coming from, from the pictures submitted, I admit to a bias toward the consistency Turpin is getting, as one has a pretty good idea of what they are getting with him.

Ed, I wouldn't try to match up Mr. Trentine against Arthur Jones. I think it's a mistake to go in that direction, one bordering on grievous.

How about this, I think Joshua has done the most to bring the training forward of Ken Hutchins.
