"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

You guys should know that Overload fitness is referred to in bodybuilding circles as "Mistake by the Lake", well not without a reason.

It's catchy, "Mistake By The Lake," but bodybuilding circles should be informed that it's not exactly boiling over with originality, as "Mistake By The Lake" was the name coined by a writer with The Chicago Tribune, for the Soldier Field renovation, in 2002.

How many of these accomplishments were achieved with Ren-ex training ?

Excluding his recent over 42yrs old `fitness` category , Trentine ( despite promising much ) has achieved Zilch since practicing Ren-ex !

Scott,

This is a desperate attempt at a marketing campaign for their facility. They must be running out if old ladies to train. They are all leaving them by numbers to train at other gyms where trainers look like the lift weights and do not walk around like idiots wearing shirt and tie.

They need to recruit more "true believers" those who "see themselves in every page" Bha ha ha ha ha...

Mr.kulitsa,

I have a simple question for you. Does HIT begin and end with Mr.Jones? In your opinion who should carry the torch? Or has exercise evolution gone as far as it can go?

If that is the case, and I doubt it they have come to the worst place to campaign. I think if anything they have true doubts in what they believe and they are trying to bolster their own beliefs by coming on here and arguing their points.

It began with Jones and ended with Darden (the last who published under the concept of HIT). Dr. Darden coined the term based on the teaching and philosophy of Jones. Since Hutchins and RenEx does not teach nor believe the philosophy and training applications of Jones (they have their own way of doing things), what they are doing is not HIT... unless you can explain otherwise.

From everyone's understanding, RenEx is not HIT as per Jones or Darden, but a different training application, just like what I recommend is not HIT, although there are instances of training to failure within my philosophy. Accordingly, Josh cannot be the king of HIT since he does not train HIT (as per Jones and Darden), nor support that philosophy as it stands in the literature. Rather, Josh is the king of his own brand and methods of training... the King of RenEx.

100% agree with Brian's statement. SS/RENEX is nothing more than a failed and discarded sub-protocol. Long live the failure!

IMO HIT does begin and end with Jones. But the application of scientific method to the pursuit of larger muscles through resistance exercise doesn't have to.

There is no torch and the truth will out. If you are truly confident that Jones is right then you would see that nobody needs to carry the torch to it's destination. It will simply be discovered that it was there all along.

From recollection I feel like I remember quite a few people saying it was. Even if you never did.

I clearly remember making the point that 3 sets of partials is not 1 set just because each set is limited to a different ROM, and being told that it was in fact one set. I can't remember who claimed that or why but if He is reading this now I would surely like to know how many sets you would a trainee have done if they did 1 set of barbell curl J-Rep thirds for and then did 2 sets of barbell squat thirds in two different ROMs for quads.

You're confused, move on. And if I say MY METHOD is not HIT, it is irrelevant what others say, SINCE IT IS MY METHOD. What a genius. LOL! I notice you NEVER make such comments about anyone else on this forum. I feel honored to be subjected to such obsessive behavior. You're my stalker.
