"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

What I know:

1. You definitely do not need to lift heavy weights to have an amazing muscular body.

2. You do not need to take any steroids or supplements to build a great physique.

3. You do not need to do use cardio machines or take aerobic classes to get ripped.

4. 90 % of my members get ripped on a diet of six meals a day, high carbs low fat and 10 % on two or three meals of high fat low carbs. Both groups take in an average of one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.

4. Out of everyone on this site except Dr. Darden, Brian Johnston makes the most sense. I'm now purchasing everything the man has written.

5. Heavy weights definitely build mass but I personally know a dozen big guys that bench 405, but they look like crap. You cannot take your bench to the beach. If you want to impress the guys, good for you, I would rather impress the ladies! lol

6. I have equipment by Icarian, Bodymasters, Flex, Atlantis, Nebula, Hammer Strength and Life Fitness but my Nautilus machines are my favorite, because they produce great results. Funny thing is I never liked them when I purchased them.

7. I did not know a lot about my equipment, and never really cared about where they came from, but thanks to you guys, I have a real interest in my Nautilus equipment.

8. I have spent almost 30 years averaging 60 hours a week in my gym but most of the time I don't have a clue what you guys are talking about.

That's my rant for this month...for what it's worth.

Coalman, my gym just started out as a backyard thing and got way out of hand.

I'm probably headed the way of the dodo bird but I still manage to make a living off this old equipment.

Those girls you seen are 110 lbs. each and so tiny you could put them in your back pocket. I trained them both and can say that they are ten times tougher than any big guy here. lol

60 hours in your gym each week? Are you an instructor or is that 60 hours of lingering around or actually working out?
Not knowing what most on here are talking about is a good thing.

60 hours a week sitting next to the most important machine in the gym...the cash register. When he's happy I'm happy...that saying meant something different thirty years ago.

Nautilus 75 are you the guy that sold me the Bn/Torso arm?

If so it was a pleasure doing business with you.

Coalman, not to complain but I'll trade paycheques with you any day.

A gym this size is no cash cow with 150 members.

But it beats working for a living and my wife lets me train beautiful women.

When I was young and studying commercial art my best friends dad took me aside one day and said I could stay in the field I like, art, and make enough money to get by or I could go into a more lucrative field like a stock broker and make loads more money. I prefer to work in an environment where I love what I do so I chose art. I never regretted my decision. Most people who live around me make loads more money but most are not really happy.

LOL...you crack me up coalman. I now have to google earth your location, is that one word or two?

As far as contests go I personally want nothing to do with them and have not seen one in twenty years.

Only one of those girls competed and she absolutely belongs on a stage, winning two shows out of four in a six month window. I guess there were like over a hundred bikini chicks in one show....that division is hot right now.

One thing these girls have in common is they both have incredible back development. I know the Nautilus Rowing Torso, BN and Pullover played a big part.

I'll try to post some back shots.

She's got a great back caper. Is she one of your clients on a high carb-low fat diet?

The older of the two went higher carb, low fat and the younger bikini competitor is low carb, higher fat.

These ladies built their backs in three months with higher reps and lighter weights. You can see the similar development.

The more muscular lady is 45 years old and actually the weakest person I have ever trained in my life but that did not stop her from developing a lean muscular body.
