"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Yep, see, the key is not inroading or outroading...but avoiding OFFroading from the toilet seat. Kills your TOT progress.

I would think that outgassing would be an even bigger hazard.

It is interesting how now and then on here there is a nut case poster and then there is at least one other who seems to keep the conversation going that has the exact same writing style. Wayne , Southbeach and Mr. Strong were good at that. Maybe they're on a new binge??

It does kind of seem like that. I wonder whatever happened to Southbeach? Talk about relentless.

Well here is my recent session this weekend. I was able to get that extra second on my Leg Press ... though it required intense focus so as not to game the "hold" and avoid self-trickery. In my case of extreme focus and understanding I have my own BS-Detector built in, but in other trainee's situations you may be surprised at the compromise one can make to cheat and heave a weight.

Exercise 1) Leg Press Max Pyramid: added 5 pounds and 1 second. The last three seconds of the last pyramid step hold was rough and it seemed as if time-stood-still !!!

Exercise 2) Back Pull-Down Max Pyramid: added ten pounds. This exercise is an incredible bicep builder which is why one does not need to do hardly any direct bicep (arm) work. How can I say this. Show n Go ... seeing is believing in pump, growth and size.

Exercise 3: Chest Row Done-In-One: added 5 pounds and 7 segundos. What a forearm workout. In fact soon I will have to add wrist hooks as this exercise chain will likely deplete my forearm capacity in about ten pounds (ten weeks from now).

Anyone else interested can PM me fora SOA 2017 exercise example ... no klowns please.

Cheers to those who want to progress! Welcome to 2017.

saw tom platz train around 79-82 time period . super intense , was very strict with reps when first saw him . real nice person , I was just learning to train and he took time to show me better way to do different exercises. back then i was doing the Arnold deal 20 sets and not really makin much progress for all the hard work. I got a basic chest shoulder tri , legs back bi workout from him . I only did 3 sets for bench , bent laterals , o. h. press ,tri ext. day 1 ..3 sets squat , leg curl, bent row , deadlift , curls , 1 set pullup calf raise, day 2 and started making progress.. He said he used similar deal to bring his upper bod to match legs ... Later I did a Mike Mentzer program .

... State of Recovery from my Last session (from 7 days ago):

Well, after seven days I am beginning to again notice overall structural gains in my overall build and appearance. However, I am not ready for another session event (as expected) since I cannot yet feel a clear contraction strength gain. This may sound undeterministic, but I know I'm ready for my next session when an imposed static contraction feels like it can get very deep into a muscle ... to the bone!

Cheers, and watch for my update next weekend.

Welllllll ... the Weight(sic) is Over

It's been three weeks (20 days) since my last exercise session. Even though I felt ready-to-go last weekend, I purposely waited another week to be sure I was 100% grown, and four pounds lighter due to a very low carb Easter season!

Here is the session from this blessed morning . . .

Back Extension 303030. I was forced to convert this exercise to 303030 since I could not pin any more weight on the full stack when doing Max Pyramid.

Chest Press Max Pyramid: plus 15 pounds but down two steps ... as pre-planned. GAIN!

Shoulder Shrug Max Pyramid: plus 5 poundos

... and for kicks ... Max Contraction Biceps Curl (for Show-N-Go) uh .... WOW!!!

Cheers for Progress and Healthy Gains. How few of us are taking the life-long efforts of Dr. Darden, John Little, etc and practicing what they preach. C'mon guys ... no excuses! At 58 years and 258 pounds I am getting stronger and biologically younger every session! Chalk it up to an open and erudite mind!

As always we appreciate the works of Doctors Darden and McGuff, and that of John Little.
