"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

A chance for people to post NEW photos for 2017.

My middle photo taken on today's date (I need to drop another 5 pounds of fat). The other photos taken in the past 48 hours, all without a pump. Injury free, age 52.

Nutrition was high density (nuts, seeds, lean meats, desiccated liver tabs, healthy oils, salads). Training involved no two workouts alike with increased frequency (once every 5-6 days rather than once every 7 days)... I did this for 8 weeks.

Away from my desk for the next few weeks. Enjoy your training!

Great Pics Brian!. I hope I'm still injury free and love training as much as I do today 10 years from now.

Looking very, very good!!

But, once every 5-6 days? I thought you were splitting and training more frequently than that. What is your breakdown each workout?

I think he meant training a muscle every 5-6 days versus every 7th day. I recall previously he was on a 3 way split over 7 days. I would be curious what his breakdown looked liked too.

I could see an upper/lower body split as one possibility for someone training every 2-3 days (which could allow for a muscle to get hit every 5-6 days). Some upper body muscles could get emphasized more in one session vs the other to balance out the demands of the workout.

I'd like to see how it's split up too. I do a three way split where each group gets trained every 7 days.

Interested to see how it works out to 5-6 days.

That's exactly what he meant. He PM'd me to that effect. Nothing about the breakdown/split.

The every 5-6 days was a 'blitz' of sorts. Now he's taking a week or so off and coming back at each BP 1/week.

so non blitz, sounds like BJ usually hits each muscle once a week then?

My guess would be that Brian follows a 3 way split, perhaps 2 days on 1 off , 1 on 2 off, which allows each bodypart to be trained every 5-6 days. This is pretty much what I follow while taking extra rest days when I feel they are needed.

My bet would be that he varies the weekly breakdown of the split.

If it's still 3-way, there's gotta be a back-to-back in there somewhere. Maybe Upper and Lower.

Looks like your current approach is working very well.

Brian, as I've been feeling rather old and worn out lately your post inspired me to shell out the $$$$ to get back into taking desiccated liver tablets !
