"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

May as well be pedantic and say, shouldn't it be "UR"?

Feel free to use UR in your log.

Sqt 230 x 20
Inc BP 132.5 x 20
WG Pulldown 112.5 x 20
URR 62.5 x 20
Calf 112.5 x 20
Sit-ups 30 x 20

Took some extra time between workouts due to having fun over the weekend. Today felt good. I have always considered triceps my weakness when it comes to pressing. However I am still surprised at how quickly I feel fatigue in my tris doing the 20 rep set. At the end my tris are on fire and my chest is full but not burning.

Squat 235 x 20
Inc BP 135 x 18, 3
WG Pulldiown 115 x 20
Belt Calf 115 x 20
URR 65 x 20
Sit-ups 30 x 20

Trained at night, after dinner. I haven?t done that in quite some time but it felt ok.
Squats felt good, better than last time.
Racked the presses at 18, took three deep breathes and then get three more. Staying here for next time.
Everything else was pretty challenging but I got the reps. I?m only 10lbs off a recent best 20 rep squat even with the stance change. This is where we start seeing the payoffs. Small load ncrments and resets if needed for a few weeks.

without me searching thru this thread, what is your rep cadence and rest periods between each exercise?

Normally I use a 3-4:1 cadence for upper body compounds. Currently I?d say the reps are ?smooth? with a slight pause in the contracted position. I took three minutes between the squat set and starting the press set. After that it is 90 seconds between movements, really just set up time.

I would assume you like the higher rep range....are you noticing any differences in body composition due to the higher reps

Other than squats, this is my first time using higher, over 12, rep sets. For upper body I?m typically in the 8 rep range. I?m undecided about it at this point.
I think my lats look fuller and my outer quads look better. This could be due to movement differeneces, narrow squat stance and wider grip on pulldowns. My mid delts are getting direct work, which I usually don?t do. I?m not sure about my arms. My triceps seem to be getting worked better, pump and burn, and showing some results. My biceps seem to be losing size but I think it is because of less direct work, no curls and wide parallel grip for pulldowns.
All of that said, the weights are getting challenging. Up to this point sets have been not to failure. I?m getting to sets to failure now which should be growth stimulating. The next few weeks will tell.

Squat 240x20
Inc BP 135x18, 2
WG Pulldown 120x20
URR 67.5x20
Calf 120x20
Sit-ups 35x20

Squats were ok, a couple of reps were shallow. I knew rep 10 missed by a bunch. But the last couple were a little deeper than usual.
May reset 10 pounds on presses.

Two videos - squats and URR.

Sit-ups skipped

Had a bad night?s sleep, I felt off this morning but decided to lift anyway. Squats were solid and I matched a recent PR 20 rep set. Made progress in presses but wiped out for the rest. I?ll repeat the upper body loads next time.

Cool. I enjoy coming in here and seeing your progress.

How about recovery? Do you feel better or fresher on higher reps? Joints etc?
