"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Some Doctors recommend , Dr Al Sears comes to mind, creatine for fat loss. He reasons that the extra muscle mass will increase metabolism. The increased metabolism will increase calorie burn thus burning fat for the increased energy needs. There is logic here but little facts. Thus, I wanted the expertise and experience of Dr Darden to speak out.

Aren't all the 'gains' you make from Creatine just water retention ?

Hard to say!
Many athletes take creatine and see performance increases. Perhaps the increased water retention facilitates increased muscle mass.

Not many facts here!

At a fat burning rate of 6 calories a day per pound of muscle mass, how much additional calorie burn are you expecting creatine to generate? A normal creatine responder will get maybe a few pounds of muscle from the creatine. If you're burning an extra 25 or so calories a day it borders on insignificant. You might as well cut your calories 25 a day if fat loss is your goal.
