"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Turning 54 in a week... this is my Chuck Sipes white tank picture (for those who may remember him holding a chainsaw.

Great job, and almost happy birthday to you. I'll be 54 in 3 weeks, we are very close in age, but I'm way behind in muscle size from you.

Some people are surprised that it?s so much and some people are surprised that I run so little each week? Of course, a month ago, I hit a 230-mile week, but that was all just one race.

Dykes loves the competition of racing.

He hired a coach five years ago.

I?d always resisted hiring a coach because, I mean, he?s going to tell you how to run. Who doesn?t know how to run? I said, well, obviously, I?m getting old, if I want to get a new PR, I?ll have to take a chance.

Dykes knocked 20 minutes off his marathon time.

He now runs 5Ks in under 20 minutes.

Dykes otherwise simplifies his training.

Incredible. He's to the running world genetically what a Casey Viator was to the bodybuilding world genetically.

TBH I have made better gains from 45yrs-53yrs by training (and eating) in a manner that I found optimal for ME.
In my 36yrs of training I have tried almost all methods and gave them all a fair crack , some were productive some proved otherwise ( after time ) , but if your accumulated knowledge and experience ( good/bad ) after a protracted period in training cannot provide you with a productive programme going forward then you are wasting your time.
