"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

William Edgar Jones, Arthur's youngest son has a new book on Amazon. It is a pretty interesting read about the going's on at Nautilus over the years from a true insider.

Yup, it's titled The Lost Empire of Arthur Jones.
Edgar had posted an initial draft of the beginning of this on the net years ago.
Arthur didn't talk much about any of his children to me other than a little about his daughter the doctor who I could tell he was proud of.

He told me his other daughter had an unbelievably high IQ but that she was insane and highly dangerous. He didn't say a word to me about Gary and I didn't push it.

Edgar whose first name is William was named after his grandfather, why he was called by his middle name I have no idea. Arthur didn't seem to be " impressed " by Edgar's abilities.
Which is why, among other reasons, he married Inge Cooke so SHE could take the helm at MedX when Arthur died.
I learned this in 1995 when Arthur was still somewhat active with MedX.

However as is the title of Arthur's autobiography " Man Plans While God Laughs ".
I bought it just now on Amazon, thank you Jeff Bezos . It's 270 pages and very inexpensive.
Buy it I'm sure it will be interesting if nothing else.

Looks like an interesting read.

Seems a bit odd how Arthur Jones didn't seem to think much of his son's. Especially Gary, who seemed to help his Dad design and build the machines.

Since you are so hept up about thanking Bezos I'll chime in my support. Thank you Jeff Bezos for bringing more traffic and congestion to our area with your coming facility which will only benefit a hand full of local employees but raise our taxes to the point we can't afford to live here thanks to our county paying you 2 billion from taxes I pay to come here to Arlington instead of you paying us to come here.Big thanks Jeff!!

Odd?? It's exactly what I would expect. I'm sure his sons didn't live up to his expectations but who could? I'm sure he was very demanding and never around for them.I'm guessing he was very hard to deal with.

Good point.

I get the impression Arthur Jones knew about the deep state and didn't want to be part of it unlike Amazon.

I guess you should have organized there like they did in Long Island City and sent Amazon packing. Power to the people.

I spent many years as a local activist trying to get local governments to do the right thing for the people , not big busineses and their big money investors. With the climate in and around Washington what the people want means nothing. It?s all about the all mighty buck!!

Yes, capitalism! It is what creates jobs and why our economy is so great...thank you President Trump! I wish he could have 5 more terms! I'd love for Amazon to come close by - so many jobs and a boost to the economy. Big government isn't the solution.

Yes, 5 more years and he could undo everything good that's been done in the last 20 years. Jobs you say? Amazon will bring 400 jobs, all of which will not be filled with local people. Don't you see Trump is big government. With a big flick of his pen he undo's things that people have fought for for years. Just yesterday he relaxed pollution controls. That's not something for the people, that's so his people can make more money.

What good was done in the last 20 years?? Destroying the economy and healthcare - super times! How about senseless wars?

I'm all for relaxation of pollution controls, heck ELIMINATE the EPA as they do more harm than good. Yes, I deny climate change is man made.

If Amazon comes to town, that's BIG BUCKS for whatever city is fortunate enough to host them. You do realize these individuals will purchase homes, cars, etc.

I applaud Amazon for paying zero taxes. They accomplished this because of stock based compensation.
Interestingly enough, a 1993 bill passed by Clinton and the Dems trying to punish CEO's with stock-based compensation has back fired like everything liberals get their hands on.

KEEP AMERICA GREAT!!!!!

Who needs those rivers and streams anyway? They are great filters for mercury and every other toxin. Take those filters off the power plants ,who needs to breath? We need more Love Canals!! Fill up the Grand Canyon with toxic waste!! Cut down all the trees. Who needs oxygen? Get rid of OSHA , who cares about safety? Who needs parks, just exploit them!! Just let people do whatever the heck they want as long as it makes them money. The dark ages is just around the corner.
I?m sure when Arthur Jones went to Rhodesia he wasn?t going there because he was trying to help that country. He was probably there taking advantage of a poor mismanaged country with no laws and taking every thing he could get away with in the name of profits just like the early Spanish explorers who pillaged every poor country they explored.

You are so right about the rivers. Do you recall the Gold King Mine disaster? You know, that little incident where the EPA ripped a hole into a mine and caused it to spew toxins into the river...they literally destroyed the river. Did they ever pay for this??

The EPA ruled that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant and used it to further global warming regulations. Life on earth REQUIRES carbon dioxide.

Probably right about Jones and we are all better off BECAUSE of his innovation and being an opportunist.

Governments don't help countries and they certainly are not the answer.

You speak of dark ages. If we followed your line of thinking, we really would be stuck in dark times.

By the way, have you seen the interest rates on homes lately? How about the unemployment numbers?? Trump will win by another landslide - thank goodness!

True, it's unlikely Arthur Jones would have gone to Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe/Zambia without thinking there was some serious money to be made. He also explained in his biography that labor was cheap. Film companies now have changed a little bit, and go to countries such as Hungary we're they don't pay so much tax.

Amazon, incidentally, look for both, areas where labor is cheap and next to no taxation. Ironically, in plain sight. I believe their first fulfillment center was in a place where employment was comparatively low and low paid. But we're all plugged into Amazon right? So we shouldn't complain? Or perhaps we need to question more how we spend our money. I digress.

Assuming Arthur Jones was there to shoot (film), everything would have been perfect - films of exotic animals in their wild habitats many audiences would have never seen before - easy sell. The only thing that could make it go wrong would be outside interference. That said filming animals as a cover for other activities could be seen as a smart move. Perhaps someone caught wind? Would he have stayed there longer had the government not interfered? Until that point he said he was having a ball. Giving the benefit of the doubt, the authorities there probably got suspicious of chap with advanced technology who was seemingly taking over a particular area and probably had most of the local population on his payroll.

'Rhodesia' itself was named after Cecil Rhodes, a British Imperialist. Rhodes became fantastically rich from having a monopoly over the world's diamond supply. The Cecil Rhodes Scholarship still exists today. Probably, by the time Arthur Jones turned up most of the country's wealth had been plundered, but Jones being the smart man he was saw other opportunities. But maybe he managed to take a few diamonds back to the states?

Since then, the world has changed, or at least the Kaleidoscope has, but imperialism still exits via the complicated global banking system which does not care if governments are socialist, capitalist, or anything else for that matter so long as they have control of money. Those running the USA (through a puppet President) have got it down to a fine art. Go to war with a country $ Bankrupt a country $ Make it buy from you to rebuild $ itself with loans $ it can never repay.

Iran is next on the hit list as it's not yet under the control of global banking system. Any excuse will be sold to the American people, whose own federal reserve is not federal nor owns a reserve. And any President that's tried to change that has been bumped off.

I think Arthur Jones would have known how the system works and therefore might have some point been part of it. Perhaps some sort of contractor. After all, in some cases, by his own admission, he went into completely uncharted territories. And as we all know it's usually explorers who in relatively small teams that help establish new enterprises whatever they may be. Marco Polo and Columbus spring to mind.

There's no question Jones was a smart dude. He had the knowledge and know how to take advantage of those type situations in foreign countries. Just filming animals, ha ha, I doubt it.
I had a cousin who flew for Air America and my father and two other cousins both worked for the CIA. He was full of stories about what was going on in some of these countries and folks weren't always flying in what they said they were and if they did something else came along with it.

Destruction?

Any examples?

The problem isn't the candidates, rather their ideas...or lack thereof.
