"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

I did for many years, but quit after leaving traditional MA?s. I still did Sanchin as a conditioning exercise for quite some time. We did quite a bit of kata and one step sparring in Goju Ryu.

I was into kung fu, so we called them 'forms' but same thing, I do one once in a while, for old time's sake. Mui Fa (Plum Blossom), from my old Choy Li Fut days.

I've been doing many Wado Ryu katas for over 46 years. It's a way of keeping all of the techniques I learned in place and sharp just in case I need them at a moment's notice!

The only kata I practice on a regular basis is Sanchin, the Uechi Ryu version, from what I understand this version is the closest to what was originally brought back from China.

Occasionally I practice Kururunfa kata but that is about it. I don't find practicing kata in general a time efficient way to practice techniques.
