"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Sorry, but I don't have a Backloading eBook. I'm working on an eBook called "Ice Water Diet," and it includes some backloading-type exercises. More on it soon.

Dr. Brian Weiner (Ice Diet) and Peta Bee (Ice Diet) have available books to read.

The new Ice Age is coming. It is all about burning ATP in the Krebs cycle mitochondrion aerobically. You need oxygen (aerobic energy system) and fat (energy storage) to facilitate this process. A high carb low fat diet helps slightly, as does resistance training. Eccentric exercise disrupts ATP levels less than other forms of resistance training. Long duration cardiovascular conditioning is ideal for deconditioned couch potatoes.

Dr. Darden, can you respond here on this?

I am reading this Peta?s book now.

Dr. Brian Weiner had also released his version 1st.

I get a feeling of disloyalty when reading her book knowing that Dr. Ellington Darden was FIRST many years ago to talk about ice (water).

ATP,

Now that you read Peta Bee's book, what do you think about it?

From that Atlantic article:

"Physics writer Andrew Jones offers more skeptical calculations as to the caloric benefits of the ice diet, determining that eating a kilogram of ice would burn 117 calories. "To reach the 3,500 calories required to lose a pound of weight, it would be necessary to consume about 30 kilograms [66 pounds] of ice," Jones writes. "Not exactly the most efficient diet plan." That means, if you ate a liter of ice every day, you would lose about a pound of weight every month, all other things in life being equal. That's not bad. And all other things wouldn't be equal. Everything in your life would be different because you would be eating a liter of ice every day."

Eating 66 lbs of ice to lose 1 lb of body fat? Seems like a lot of work for a small benefit....

@ Dr. Ellington Darden,

Sir,

Sorry for the delayed answering of your question!
I was doing three consecutive 12 hours shifts in pharmacy. People are really scared today!

To be clear I have not read Dr. Brian Weiner s ebook yet! However, I like his ideas of slushy drinks and ice pops.

Peta Bee s book is well written and will appeal to a very wide audience. I think women in particular would find her writings informative and not patronizing. Furthermore, the book has documented references if someone is interested in such. One area of improvement for this author would be to include appropriate visual aids.
The book endeavors to evaluate why we need a cooler lifestyle. I think the menu/recipes were a bit of an educational effort overreach.
However, the information on bathing, drinks, aerobic exercise could be very beneficial for many people. I would give her 4 Stars

P.S.

I really like her suggestion of showering in normal water temperature and closing the shower with cool water.
